Abstract: Significant progress has been made in the development of SMT (surface mount technology) equipment in our country, such as solder paste printers, reflow soldering equipment, wave soldering equipment, AOI test equipment etc. However, development of the mid-range and the high-grade SMT mounters, the key equipment in SMT production line, has little breakthrough up to now. In this paper the technology development，the domestic application and development status of SMT mounter are briefly described. The main difficult problems of domestic mounter development are pointed out. And some recommendations for mounter development are made to speed up the development of the domestic SMT mounter.
