Abstract:
The state-of-the-art and development trend of the large space-borne deployable antennas are presented in this paper. Almost all kinds of deployable antennas are included such as the mesh reflector with cable net, the membrane reflector, the antenna with micro-electronic-mechanical structures (MEMS), the solid reflector, the inflatable antenna and so on. The model establishment & analysis and design methods are described, such as digital modeling, form finding, analysis of flexible structures, deployment procedure control, reliability analysis of deployment process, thermo analysis and control in the orbit, measurement and adjustment, the integration with mechanical, electromagnetic and thermo technologies, and the com puter software platform for satellite-borne antenna analysis and design is also introduced, particularly for the mesh reflector with cable net. In addition, some other deploy-able antennas under development and in service in space are introduced briefly.
