Abstract:
Along with the development of strike weapons (such as intercontinental ballistic missile, submarine launched missile, MIRV missile) and various satellites, the demand on the large multifunctional detection system namely the large phased array radars, has been increasing rapidly for its advantages of vast coverage & long range, high resolution and multiple target trail. In recent years great progress has been made in the large phased array radar. The long-range early-warning radar, long-range phased array radar and long-range air defense monitoring radar have been deployed at radar sites. Different installation structural forms of antenna array have different effects on radar installation and accuracy control of array. In this paper, the effects of two connecting structural forms (transition skeleton and adjusting mechanism) of two antennas are analyzed upon installation and accuracy control by comparing the installation process and accuracy control process of antenna arrays for two large stationary phased array radars. According to the comparison result, the merits or demerits of each antenna arrays are concluded. It can be used as reference for future development and deployment with high efficiency and low cost of large phased array radars.
