Abstract:
In response to the low efficiency and poor design consistency of traditional 3D modeling software in cable design process, a research on a cable digital integrated design platform based on CATIA customization development platform is carried out. By establishing a database of connectors, wires, accessories, etc., and a knowledge-based matching mapping rule for cable materials, a fast design module for cable paths of flexible cables and semi-rigid cables is developed. High-frequency and rapid iterative optimization of cable paths is achieved by quickly editing control points. Finally, an automatic output module is used to quickly generate cable drawings and manufacturing data, and forming data are automatically imported into the cable forming system and mixed reality-based guided assembly system to achieve model connectivity from cable design to manufacturing. As a result, the integrated application of cable components from path planning to detailed design and manufacturing has been achieved and the cable design efficiency is improved by more than three times.
