Inflatable Design Based on Space Solar Power Station OMEGA

Abstract
In the context of the increasingly acute contradiction between global energy supply and demand, the space solar power station(SSPS) has emerged as a crucial research direction. While the SSPS-OMEGA exhibits certain advantages, it also confronts issues such as splicing errors and difficulties in transportation and assembly. An inflatable design based on this system is proposed in this paper, which replaces the hexagonal structure of the primary reflector in the original OMEGA scheme with a unidirectional light-transmitting film and is deployed to operate in the vacuum environment of space. By establishing various finite element analysis models, applying pneumatic loads to the reflective concentrating surface and spherical support surface under different working conditions and considering the influence of various factors, the results show that the accuracy of the reflective concentrating surface profile, the focal length and the stress are within the controllable range, which proves the feasibility of the inflatable design.
