Research Progress and Challenges of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer Cabinet

    • The ever-increasing demands for maneuverability of equipment in the aerospace field have gradually exposed the bottlenecks of traditional metal cabinets in weight reduction and comprehensive performance. Carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP), by virtue of its outstanding characteristics of light weight and high strength, has become a pivotal material for achieving weight reduction and efficiency improvement of cabinets. The research progress of CFRP cabinets in lightweight structural design, thermal management strategies, electromagnetic shielding technologies and corrosion resistance is systematically reviewed in this paper. In terms of structural design, the engineering applications of typical structures and advanced lightweight methods such as topology optimization are analyzed; in terms of thermal management, the action mechanisms of heat dissipation fin structures and thermal conductive fillers for improving thermal conductivity are summarized; in terms of electromagnetic shielding, the technical routes such as surface metallization and built-in metal mesh as well as their shielding effectiveness are sorted out; in terms of corrosion resistance, Meanwhile, the risk of galvanic corrosion at the interface of heterogeneous materials and the corresponding protection strategies are discussed. Finally, the major technical challenges faced at the current stage are pointed out, which provides a reference for the engineering application of CFRP cabinets.
