The concept and significance of Reverse Engineering(RE) and Rapid Prototyping & Manufacturing(RP) are discussed in the context of modern industrial design.Detailed analysis is conducted on the configuration of scanning model,data collection and data processing,the re-configuration of computer-aided design(CAD),the process of product design and rapid prototyping and manufacturing.The application of Reverse Engineering(RE) and Rapid Prototyping & Manufacturing(RP) will optimize the product design by significantly accelerating product development.
