Recent Advances in Optimization of High-Speed Machining and its Future Trend

Abstract
Optimization of cutting conditions is a critical requirement for high-speed machining. Because the cutting speed is dramatically increased in high-speed machining, it is more difficult to optimize cutting parameters for high-speed machining than for conventional machining. This paper reviews the recent advances in the optimization of machining parameters for high-speed machining. The main problems include modeling and algorithm for the parameter optimization. Some comments on future development trend and directions are also pointed out.
