    Strength Simulation of Airborne Composite Material Antenna Radome under Wind Load

    • Airborne radomes have strict weight requirement and need to bear large wind load. Composite materials are mostly used to meet the requirements. Therefore, it is necessary to check the strength of the radome. In this paper, the CFD (computational fluid dynamics) finite element simulation of wind load for an airborne radome is firstly carried out. Then, the ply design of composite material structure is carried out using ANSYS ACP. Furthermore, the strength of the radome is analyzed by using the fluid and structure coupling method under the condition of the computed wind pressure. Finally, the safety of the radome structure design is judged by checking the allowable stress, deformation and composite material multiple-failure criteria. The airborne radome meets the application requirements under the required wind load.
